Now more than ever, teachers are important partners when it comes to job orientation for their students. From 6th or 7th grade onwards, students are guided towards the job market. Making them politically interested and responsible adults is one of the main goals of public education. The IfT Institut für Talententwicklung is supporting these tasks in various ways:
At nordjob and vocatium fairs, students get into contact with professionals who already had training / did studies in the fields of expertise that are of interest for students. In lectures and individual interviews students get informed and might find their future profession. There are around 75 nordjob and vocatium fairs annually.
Prepare for your talks. Our workshops and guides (printed and online), our Search area and our Learning Game will help you
Our movie about the vocatium and nordjob fairs gives you an impressum on how they work.
Parents are important counselors when it comes to finding the proper profession for their children. At parentum events parents get support in finding a vocation for their children together with their children. Duration of parentum events is 4 hours each, weekdays from 3 – 7 pm or Saturdays from 9.30 am – 1.30 pm.
Part of our service are workshops helping students with job orientation. Various themes are possible, e.g. workshops about the application process, body language or communication.
In addition, parent events are visited by employees of the IfT as well. A total of 18,000 workshops are held each year. You can find further information here.
In addition, mentors projects are organized.
Job orientation should be fun. vocatium2go/nordjob2go is simulating a visit to the fair and serves as preparation for the interviews at the fair. A test concerning job orientation is part of the app as well. The game can be downloaded for free.
